Mechanisms of aggregation-induced enhanced emission of iridium(III) complexes have been proposed by Chinese and Korean groups, however, they have conflicted each other. The former group suggested an importance of a new energy level of ³MLLCT arising from the π–π stacking between the ligands, in contrast, the latter attributed the enhanced emission to the restriction of molecular motion in the solid state.
