Abstract

5-Hydroxy-1,7-bis(4-hydroxy-3-methoxyphenyl)-hept-4,6-dien-3-one(C₂₁H₂₂O₆) crystallizes into triclinic, P1. The unit-cell dimensions at 293 K are a = 7.4733(6), b = 11.4315(9), c = 12.7458(10)Å, α = 113.272(2), β = 103.374(2), γ = 97.340(2)°C, V = 943.46(13)Å³, D_x = 1.304 g/cm³, and Z = 2. The R value is R = 0.050 for 3333 reflections. The molecule is essentially non-planar. The packing of the molecules in he lattice is directed by O-H…O intermolecular hydrogen bonds, C-H…O contacts and van der Waals forces.
