A 60-year-old man who had serious chest and arm pain died suddenly during hospitalization. He suffered from coronary vasospastic angina complicated by a fatal acute fulminant-type of myocarditis associated with Churg-Strauss syndrome (CSS). The diagnosis at autopsy was acute progressive eosinophilic myocarditis associated with CSS. (Circ J 2009; 73: 2355-2359)
