Abstract

Since FY2012, we have been conducting collaborative research in the nursing department of S University Hospital. Activity programs and tools were designed for nurses to express “the heart of nursing” in an essay, to improve nursing. The expressive activities using the programs and tools were performed in the hospital. From 2016, a new activity program for expression was designed. It is a creation of four assembled essays into a newspaper-style sheet. In this article, we introduce the design and development of this activity program, “Newspaper Workshop”, and discuss the tool design, “Kit”. In the discussion, we will examine the dynamism of the joint design process that occurred during development. The dynamism is a change in which the design activity gradually passed to the nursing group organically, allowing them to have sole possession of the process.
