Daily amount of precipitation is one of the most popular statistical data. On the other hand, total precipitation of one rainstorm is closely connected with flood and daily amount of precipitation is often confused with the precipitation of one rainstorm.
It is very throublesome to decide the precipitation of one rainstorm and gather statistics of it. Up to now the precipitation of the two consecutive days is reputed as the substitute for the precipitation of one rainstorm.
The relation between the precipitation of one rainstorm and that of the two consecutive days is investigated and the praciticality of such substitution is recognized. Some statistical data of the two consecutive days at Fukuoka are shown.
