Enzymatic Histochemical Studies of Salivary Glands

Abstract

The localization of alkaline and acid phosphatase, esterase, β-glucuronidase, aminopeptidase, succinic dehydrogenase, TPN and DPN diaphorase in normal mammals was determind. Hydrolytic enzyme reactions were generally observed to a high degree in the cytoplasm of the duct rather than the acini cell, dehydrogenase and TPN, DPN diaphorase activity were shown clearly, and thathigh stainability was observed in the striated duct.
