As a result of analyzing buildings with Hutanoki-shigedaruki eaves based on the hypothesis that their design was based on a method called tomesaki, the following conclusions are drawn.
1. The tomesaki method can further be classified into two branch systems, one called kihon-kei (basic system) and the other anbun-gata (dimensioning system based on proportions). There is yet another special system called sowari-gata, in which rafter intervals are made identical.
2. The layout of haitsuke-daruki is related to the width of a hip rafter.
