This study examines the effects of two factors, the presence or absence of tall buildings and the correctness of the street direction indication, on the time to identify a previously viewed street, through experiments using virtual environment techniques, the result suggests that in streets without tall buildings, the effect of misdirection of street orientation significantly increases the time to identify a street that has been passed once. In addition, for subjects who were good at orientation, incorrectly indicating an orientation significantly extended the time to identify a street that they had once passed.
