Abstract

In this globalized century, the regeneration of urban spaces through university campuses promoted by university reorganization has been progressing worldwide. In particular, due to the decline of industries, their sites have been converted to university campuses. This research uses thirty-eight international campuses selected from literature reviews to analyse their conversions based on campus forms and location characteristics. Furthermore, the distribution patterns of the campuses were analysed according to their locations within the cities. Finally, four distribution patterns were identified and compared to clarify the trends of campus reorganization through the conversion.
