This study targeted reports on falling accidents in a nursing home with the aim of clarifying the relationship between number of falls and seasonal environmental change. The main findings are summarized below.
1. The number of falls is the lowest in spring, and tend to be higher in autumn and winter. However, the number of falls caused by moving tend to be higher in spring. 2. The number of toilet-related falls is higher in winter. 3. The results of this study’s correlation analysis suggest that the number of falls is lower when the outdoor temperature and solar radiation are high.
