A mechanical deterioration of sealants is mainly caused by the joint movement, which can be simulated by a moving joint apparatus composed of black acrylic plate and steel base. The daily maxinmm/muumum temperature of acrylic resin plate exposed outdoors at South/30 degree position at Tsukuba for a year was monitored and was expressed as a multi-regression equation containing meteorological elements such as ambient temperature, wind speed/direction and solar radiation. Introducing Japan Meteorological Agency's data observed around Japan during 1991-1998, daily maximum/minimum movement width were estimated to be plotted on the map.
