In the present study, firstly porous concrete with relatively large size aggregate grain (particle size : 20-40mm) was made, and the relationship between void ratio and compressive strength was examined. Next, simple geometrical models was examined to represent the relationship between void ratio and compressive strength of porous concrete.
The results obtained from the present study are as follows.
1) The influence of the aggregate particle size on the relationship between void ratio and compressive strength of the porous concrete was small.
2) It is possible to predict the experimental results of the relationship between void ratio and compressive strength of the porous concrete by means of simple geometrical models with ideally spherical aggregates. Especially, in the case of orthorhombic lattice array, excellent presumption accuracy was obtained.
