Hida-Takayama is placed in the north region of Gifu Prefecture. In this area, there exists many cultural properties -- in particular, traditional festivals and old towns -- and they are designated by national protected system. In addition, Hida-Takayama is one of the most famous sightseeing areas in Japan and succeeded by promoting cultural resources as tourist attractions.
It is valuable to discuss on the awareness by shops about conserving cultural properties and promoting tourism in this area. Therefore, I conducted a questionnaire survey for shops in San-machi important preservation district for groups of historic buildings. I report the result of this survey in this article.
