Shimamura was the area that was prosperity in high-quality silkworm eggs production.
Through study of the improvement of the windows in the second floor on typical sericulture houses, we obtained the following conclusions,
1) In seven cases, the front windows had been converted to doorways. This is not only effective in ventilation; it was useful for sericulture work.
2) The north side windows had increased and the opening area of the windows had been widened.
3) Although Yahei Tajima proposed to provide windows to four sides of second floor, the west side windows did not dissemination.
