In this study, the usage status of long-term care services before and after the spread of COVID-19 infection was ascertained through analysis of long-term care receipt data and interviews with local government departments. In many local governments, service usage has stalled due to the spread of COVID-19 infection. The operating status of home services, which were operational in 2020, deteriorated in 2021. As the operating conditions of providers deteriorated, alternative services were used. The increase in demand has created a waiting list, and a phenomenon had seen what such demand is concentrated on specific provider.
