Patient: A 70-year-old man visited our hospital complaining of difficulty in mastication and pain due to serious periodontal disease and incompatibility of maxillary and mandibular dentures. The solution for serious periodontal disease was attaining primary stability by a cross-arch bridge. After periodontal treatment, a mandibular cross-arch bridge (
), a maxillary complete denture, and a mandibular removable dental prosthesis were provided.
Discussion: After 3 years, no major problem was observed. However, periodontitis deteriorated because maintenance was suspended for one year due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
Conclusion: Thanks to appropriate primary stability, mandibular premolars were saved, and as a result, functional recovery, predictability and a high degree of satisfaction were achieved.
