Abstract

The graphite furnace atomic absorption spectrometric GFAAS determination of lead and vanadium in medical and environmental materials was accomplished by using palladium as the analyte isoformer. Citric acid promoted the formation of active deposits of carbon in the graphite tube. Pd demonstrated to be equally useful for the GFAAS evaluation of volatile as well as refractory metals.
