Abstract

The chemical composition of the coating material used for color TV Braun tube has been investigated using a GDMS incorporated with the dual mode ion detector system. The major, minor and trace constituents of the material studied could be determined in the same analytical cycle. Zn, S and O are found to be the major components and Si, C, Eu and Ba are found to exist as minor ones. As trace elements, Sm, Sr, Y, W and etc. were determined. The data obtained by means of GDMS were compared with those obtained using CHN analyzer, ICP, PIXE, XRF and AAS.
