Abstract

Time dependence of ionization and initial kinetic energy of ions due to the ionization process are presented for better understanding the mechanisms of laser ionization. Secondary ionization takes place for about 0.2 and 0.4μs on Al and Au at high energy laser pulse. The initial kinetic energy was obtained as about 1keV for H but not for C and O ions from Surface contaminants. There is a possibility of micro-chemical analysis if many conditions are controlled.
