Micellar electrokinetic capillary chromatography (MECC) can be successfully applied to metal complexes of acetylacetone including both chemically inert and labile ones by using a micellar solution of sodium dodecylsulfate containing 100mmol/L acetylacetone. The migration velocities of the complexes of Sc (III), V (IV), Cr (III), Mn (III), Fe (III), Co (III) and Cu (II) are governed by the partition between the micelle phase and bulk aqueous phase, whereas those of Ti (IV), Co (II), Ni (II) and Zn (II) are governed additionally by the electrophoresis in the aqueous phase.
