A new method for separation and concentration of metals was investigated by simultaneous extraction and back-extraction using two vessels with a Teflon phase separator. The behavior of extraction and back-extraction regarding the oxinate of manganese was examined mainly under the conditions of high speed stirring. The recovery of Mn extracted into 20ml of chloroform from 250ml of an aqueous solution was 100% after 30min of stirring (3000rpm) using 100ml of a stripping solution (pH 1.0) for back-extraction. The ratio of aqueous volumes in each vessel was about 8 under the best conditions for the recovery of metal.
