Abstract

As a preliminary examination, we tried to measure various kinds of compounds related to pharmaceutics by electrospray ionization-mass spectrometry (ESI-MS) with flow injection. Then, we constructed a ESI-LC/MS system which might offer new capabilities in drug metabolism study, and human calcitonin (hCT) was analyzed. hCT was measured by selected ion monitoring method (SIM) monitoring m/z 1140 corresponding to [M+3H]³⁺ In the case of 0.5μl/inj, 20 fmol of hCT was able to be determined (S/N ratio=5) The linearity was good enough in the range of 20 fmol to 5 pmol.
