Synthesis and Crystal Structure of the Bis(4,5-diaminopyrimidinium)-pentachlorothallate(III)

Abstract

The structure of bis(4,5-diaminopyrimidinium)pentachlorothallate(III) is characterized by hexacoordinate thallium which forms unidimentional chains TlCl₆. The Tl-Cl distances vary between 2.508(2) and 2.802(2)Å. The structure consists of cations separating chains of corner-sharing TlCl₆ octahedra. These chains are themselves interconnected by means of N-H…Cl bonds originating from [C₄H₇N₄]⁺ entities forming a three-dimensional network.
