It was over sixty years ago when I first met Professor Toda as a sophomore physics student of Tokyo Bunrika Daigaku (Tokyo University of Literature and Science) whose size was very small. There were only eight students in my class. Professor Toda sees through us carefully and taught us the charm and depth of the physics research according to the level of understanding of students. The author also nostalgically describes Toda's dignified and warm personality accompanied with a sense of humor.
