Abstract

The dihydridoruthenium complex cis-RuH2(PMe3)4 reacts with NH4PF6 in acetone to produce cis-[RuH(NH3)(PMe3)4]PF6, cis-[RuH(NH=CMe2)(PMe3)4]PF6 and cis-[RuH(NH2CHMe2)(PMe3)4]PF6. The isopropylamine ligand originates from reductive animation of the solvent. A possible reaction pathway is discussed.
