Dioxygenation of a Molybdenum(IV) Porphyrin Complex as Studied by an In Situ Quartz Crystal Microbalance/UV-vis Spectroscopy Combined Method

Changes with time in mass and absorbance, accompanied by the dioxygenation of MoIVO(tmp) (tmp = 5,10,15,20-tetramesitylporphyrinato dianion) at room temperature in the sublimated solid film, were simultaneously followed by an in situ quartz crystal microbalance (QCM)/UV-vis spectroscopy combined method. The two curves synchronized accurately. In the most cases of the film systems with (2.34 - 7.13) × 10−8 mol cm−2 of coverage, the dioxygenation attained ca. 82% completion in 120 s in dry dioxygen atmosphere.
