Abstract

Herein, we demonstrate that a visible-light photoredox catalyst and metal catalyst can catalyze the Mannich-type reaction between N-aryl glycine ester and silyl enol ether. The combination of 5-aminofluorescein and InBr3 facilitates the functionalization of N-aryl glycine derivatives under mild reaction conditions without stoichiometric amounts of chemical oxidant (e.g. DDQ, t-BuOOH).
