Abstract

Side chain C-SCS of seventeen benzene derivatives having carbonyl group and hetero-atom in the transmission route were treated with our dual parameter equation [a(ι + bσR)], and the sign of the a values was explained in terms of conjugative and 1,3-through-space interactions and electronegativity combined with hyperconjugation of methyl group.
