Abstract

3-Methyl-8, 9-methylenedioxy-1H, 6H-5, 10b-ethano-2, 3, 4, 4a-tetrahydrophenanthridine, which has the skeleton of crinane, was synthesized from the ketone, 2-(3, 4-methylenedioxyphenyl)-5-methylcyclohexanone, which was derived from safrole.
