Studies on the Constituents of the Seeds of Cassia obtusifolia LINN. The Structures of Two New Anthraquinone Glycosides

Abstract

Two new anthraquinones, alaternin 1-O-β-D-glucopyranoside and chryso-obtusin 2-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, were isolated, along with physcion 8-O-β-D-glucopyranoside, from the seeds of Cassia obtusifolia LINN., and their structures were established on the basis of spectral and chemical evidence.
