Abstract

A new polyphenol, cassigarol A (1__∼), has been isolated from the heartwood of Cassia garrettiana Craib.(Thai drug "Sa mae sern", Leguminosae). The structure of 1 was established by means of chemical, spectral and X-ray analysis.
