Homoisoflavonoids and Related Compounds. V. A Novel Dibenzoxocin Derivative from Caesalpinia sappan L.

Abstract

A novel dibenzoxocin derivative, 7, 8-dihydro-10-methoxy-3, 7, 11-trihydroxy-6H-dibenz [b, d] -oxocin-7-methanol was isolated from Sappan Lignum, the dried heartwood of Caesalpinia sappan L. The chemical structure was established on the basis of the spectrometric data and the chemical interrelation with protosappanin B (7, 8-dihydro-3, 7, 10, 11-tetrahydroxy-6H-dibenz [b, d] oxocin-7-methanol).
