Biogenetic Studies of Natural Products. IV. Biosynthesis of Anethole by Foeniculum vulgare

Abstract

It was found that dl-phenylalanine [2-¹⁴C] and dl-methionine [methyl- ¹⁴C]are respectively incorporated into the α-carbon of the side chain and methyl-carbon of methoxyl group in anethole molecule produced by Foeniculum vulgare MILLER, in vivo.
