Distribution of a periodic millipede (Parafontaria laminata armigera VERHOFF, 1936) was surveyed in the Central Highland Japan in autumn 2001. We found the distribution of this millipedes at the following areas; Norikura Highland, Sakai Pass, Gonbee Pass, Mitake Villa., and the north area of Sizuoka City. New informations about migrating millipedes were obtained from Takayama City of Gifu Prefecture, the western foot of Mt. Yatsugatake, and the northern area of Sizuoka City, Sizuoka Prefecture. Only millipedes collected from Takayama City was classified as Parafontaria kuhlgatzi VERHOFF, 1937. In comparison with the distribution on Mt. Yatsugatake in previous year, the activity of the millipedes in all investigated areas in this year was in low level, and therefore peoples could not recognize millipede's migrating around the back yard of their house.
