The executive Committee of the Japan Committee for the International Geography Olympiad conducts training fieldwork to help Japanese representatives excel in iGeo (International Geography Olympiad). The four Japanese representatives are selected through a selection process from the first to the third round, and they come from all over Japan. In recent years, university faculty working in the vicinity of each representative’s residence, with the support of high school teachers as needed, have conducted training fieldwork in May or June. However, if the records of the progress of these efforts are left unattended, it will be difficult to improve efforts based on experience as memories. For these reasons, this article outlines the enhanced training fieldwork conducted on June 8, 2024 in the central area of Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, by the Japanese represetative selected from the Kansai region. Regarding this project, we have noted the problems and prospects derived.
