Development of liquid crystal module for LCD-ADB headlamp system

Abstract

Summary: In order to realize a headlamp system that makes it easy for the driver to find people on opposite side of the car, even from a distance, and that the people on the opposite side do not feel glare, we have developed a liquid crystal module to be installed as a core component in the LCD-ADB (Adaptive　Driving　Beam ) headlamp system. In this report, we demonstrate a method for achieving high transmission while seamlessly controlling the necessary and sufficient resolution for the light irradiation pattern, achieving the required performance such as a wide operating temperature range suitable for headlamps and durability performance.
