The polymer homolog series of cellulose were prePared by the regeneration of alkali cellulose of various aging time. The polymerisation degree ranged from 194 to 572 as shown in Table 1. Table 1 Table 2 The Jesuits are shown in Figure 1_??_10. The experimental results show that the physical properties of viscose rayon from cellulose of various polymerisation degrees, depend upon their manufacturing conditions and the viscosity of viscose, and that the cellulose of high polymerisation degree gives not always the fibre of high tenacity. The degree of elongation and contraction is affected by various conditions and has no esta-blished relation with the polymerisation degree.. It is clear that the properties of fibre not only depend upon the polymerisation degree, but also the time of santhation, decomposition degree of viscose and the tension of fibre in the coagulating bath, method of drying etc., in other words, the length of chain molecules, the arrangement of micelle and the internal strain of fibre. It is observed that the longermolecule has the absorptive properties of internal strain, but these properties are not always distinguished, but in some manufacturing conditions they are latent and opposite properties are reveasled.
