Abstract
Experince of a multipurpose fiberscope was discussed here. This is a new panendoscope with convertible antero-oblique, lateral viewing lenses designed for examining the upper gastrointesitnal tract from esophagus to duodenal bulb. This faculty can overcome the difficulty of endoscopic observation within the stomach and duodenal bulb. This ability offered as ideal conditions for the obser-vation of each part in the upper gastrointestinal tract. This must be ideal as a pan-view endoscope for various objects for example to detect the bleeding in the urgent endoscopy or in cases of remarkable diffi-culties of insertion such as kyphosis, gastric ptosis, multiple duodenal ulcers and so on. In spite of the existence of some weak points, this scope seemed better than any other scopes. This may be practical panview fiberscope in it real sense of the meaning.
