Abstract
In this report, an example of a microcomputer system introduced for easy and economical data processing in the field of geoscience is described.
In such a field of geoscience which treats a large number of data, it is requested to handle those data efficiently. Microcomputer system may be best fitted for this purpose of data processing and data filing.
Two applications for data processing are reported as field recording system for seismic waves and laboratory data logging system. Data filing system is also reported for storing geological data to have an independent filing function with an interface to the large computer system if necessary.
Through the experience of developing the microcomputer system, the author stresses that it is not easy to play with microcomputer system without knowledge on some software as well as hardware and it would be necessary to give education and training to the students in geoscience who treat a large volume of geological data in future.
