Abstract
Nerinea cf., visurgis is a well known Nerinea in Japan so far as known and was first described by NAUMANN and NEUMAYR from the Torinosu Limestone developed at Torinosu, Togano-mura, Takaoka-gun, Koti-ken., Specimens thought to belong to this form, which were deriverd from the type locality and stored in the Institu-ne of Geology and Palaeontology, Tohoku Imperial University comprise two differ-ent types., As atated in the Japanese text, both types may be easily distinguish-able from N., visurgis from the Upper Jurassic of the Northern Germany., One has smooth flanks of the whorls, while the other is characterized by the presence of two tuberculated hands; new names, naumanni and naumanni neumayri are here give-n respectively, the former seems to be more common in Torinosu limestone develo-ped at Torinosu and its neighbours than the latter.,
