Abstract
By daily isolation line culture and tube transfer culture, we observed the time of initial occurrence of selfing conjugation in the clones of mating type VI of Paramecium caudatum, syngen 3. In most clones, selfing began to occur from 80 to 120 fissions after conjugation. No great difference in the time of occurrence of selfing was observed between progenies of different crosses.
