DPT (dinitroso pentamethylene tetramine) itself can be decomposed at 206°C, and with other materials, especially acidic materials, come to be decomposed at various temperatures (60°C180°C).
Therefore, it is very suitable for industrial use as blowing agent of sponge rubber.
But we must attend to dealing with DPT, lest should fire break out.
In this report, we stated about the influences of acidic meterial 1g. Salicylic acid, phthalic anhydride, tartaric acid, benzoic acid, boric acid and fatty acid etc, to deomposition of DPT, and recognized that effect of these acids on decomposition of DPT was proportional to the dissociation constant, further studied the influences of urea, diethylene glycol, curing accelerators and fillers on decomposition of DPT.
These experiments led to the syllogism of decomposition of DPT. Also we explained couses of yellow colouration and odour of sponge rubber which are manufactured by DPT used as blowing agent and further alluded to elimination of odour.
