Abstract

Theoretical limit pressure of FRP high pressure fittings is analyzed. Application pressure of international standard API is said to be 20 MPa or less, and those which are practically used for small diameter pipe are less than 10 MPa. Meanwhile, due to the drilling of deeper underground resources and the diffusion of corrosion-resistant high-pressure containers leading to hydrogen gas, the demand for joints with design pressure exceeding 100 MPa is expected, and the process piping used at offshore oil refining base also has working pressure 13 MPa, a pipe fitting reaching the diameter of about 500 mm is also necessary. This research reports the results of research on the theoretically designable maximum pressure of FRP fittings. It was theoretically proved that the joints up to 100 MPa disclosed by the GPI technical standard can be designed and manufactured
