By examining the data concerning the progress, anti-leprosy effect and related matters about the patients in charge, it was found that the basis of anti-leprosy treatment was largely influenced after all by a personal relationship between a doctor and a patient.Being based on this relationship, factors which hinder the therapy must be clarified and removed by effort for solution. Further investigations would be necessary in future for the treatment of patients who became bacteriologically negative after such effort. On the other hand, patients with so-called "therapy-resistant leprosy" seems to be confined to few cases, if the factors which hinder the therapy are sifted out by examining precisely the progress and the antileprosy effect with these patients. Accordingly, it is considered that an important matter is the study on host-parasite-relationship, likewise in general communicable diseases, especially on several factors in the host-side.
