Bryoxiphium norvegicum (Brid.) Mitt. subsp. japonicum (Berggr.) Á.Löve & D.Löve (Bryoxiphiaceae), the sword moss, has been rediscovered on Miyajima Island, Hatsukaichi City, Hiroshima Prefecture, southwestern Japan. The last report of the species was in the early 1970's. Information on the habitat was provided.
