I report an albino larva of Hynobius tsuensis Abe collected on 12 April 1997 from Shimoagata-gun, Nagasaki Prefecture. This individual, having bright yellowish body color dotted with white spots and red eyes, possibly lacked melanophores by a mutation as already reported in many amphibian species. After metamorphosis, the salamander continued healthy growth until it accidentally died.
