A method for designing wide-band complex impedance-matching circuits using nonuniform transmission lines is presented. The proposed method is based on genetic algorithms and cubic spline interpolation. It is shown that various wide-band matching circuit design problems can be solved without increasing theoretical and computational complexity. Design examples are performed, and the proposed method is demonstrated to be effective for designing wide-band matching circuits.
