Abstract
A fast framing camera measurement has been performed in order to investigate dynamics of current reversal of helicity-driven spherical torus (ST) plasma. Fast camera image shows the helical kink behavior of the open flux around the central conductor during the relaxation transition from ST to Flipped ST plasmas. This is in good agreement with results of three-dimensional MHD numerical simulation previously reported.
