We investigated magnetocardiogram (MCG) in normal subjects using 64 ch SQUID (Superconducting Quantum Interference Device) system. Many investigators measured rectangular component of magnetic field previously, but we measured tangetial componet of magnetic field that was parallel to the chest wall by this system. We measured two directions : horizontal (X) axis and longitudinal (Y) axis. We could obtain good records of MCG in all subjects in a shielded room. Corresponding to depolarization and repolarization of atriums and ventricles, MCG was precisely recorded. We could also get isomagnetic maps from MCG. They revealed time course of ventricular electric excitation in detail. The measurement of tangential componet of magnetic field indicates existence of current dipole as the strongest signal point, so it shows new information different from usual MCG. It will be expected to show new findings in patients with heart disease.
