Abstract

The research develops a new pneumatic cylinder with variable orifices and confirms the simulation model and numerical solution for dynamic analysis of the cylinder. The requested speed characteristics, restricting the maximum acceleration and making piston of the cylinder move smoothly, can be realized easily so long as the variable orifices are properly designed, without any complicated control system. A method for designing the orifices, whose effective area vary in accordance with specific curve, has been put forward in this paper.
